Fire Release (火遁) is one of the five basic elemental nature transformation techniques. It allows the user to create fire to either be thrown as projectiles or released through the mouth to deter or attack an enemy. The latter form is more common, though skilled shinobi will often breath fire across longer distances in order to reach their target and burn them. Fire Release techniques can also be used with mediums such as gunpowder or explosive tags to create explosive results. Like wind and lightning, fire-natured chakra can also be channelled through a weapon using chakra flow, though doing so requires great skill. An affinity to Fire Release appears to be common in shinobi of Konohagakure, the Land of Fire's hidden village.
